I told myself “no more previews until it’s done” BUT I finished the base of another pseudo tarot card and I am weirdly pleased with it, so I’m posting it anyway

this is Moore. She is from the plains, and a leader of a local band of rebels. She is fueled by old anger, so when she finds herself thrown into the politics of the greater rebellion, she is frustrated by the ineffectiveness of the movement at large. Ronan and Franz show up just as this happens, and she is suuuuper skeptical of both of them. Because let’s face it?? they are young and stupid and more than a little ridiculous.

She may or may not be secretly bangin’ her second in command, Fabel, which I also included a doodle of. (also they are here)

And with this, I would like to announce the new title of the comic formerly known as The Defector! I’ve done a lot of work on the story since I started it a little over a year ago, and it was a tough choice, and a lot of people didn’t want me to do it, but I’ve decided to restart it with the entirely new (and way better, I think) story. It was the first time I’d drawn a comic past twenty pages, and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to learn how to do comics. It will suck. I promise you that, and I also promise you that you will learn so much more than you ever will by prolonging it until “you’re ready”. With that said, I’m pretty confident that this will be the only reboot you will see from me! More on this to follow, but i can tell you to look for new pages in April. I’ll know the exact date in a couple weeks.

As for the chapter cover, this is something I’ve never really dabbled in, but I had a great deal of fun and will do more of this type of thing in the future! I was unsure about using Harbinger as the title of the comic. I’ve loved the word for years (I’d say that that’s a weird thing, but I’m sure there are others like me with favorite words) and so when I used it as a mock-title and played with typography, when it fell together so well, I sort of took it as a sign. I wanna do more with type, but it’s hard when you are allergic to Adobe Illustrator…

This will be available as a post card and as a fine art print, both at MoCCA, and I’ll also sell the leftovers online.

I keep neglecting this series, and every time i realize that i have been, i just end up starting a new one…. Gotta actually finish them, though! I have three more—Abeo, Moore, & Shen—to this story to do. I’ll try to finish at least one before I start the fifth…
