A thing I’ve been working on while taking breaks

I gave myself exactly one hour for this one!!

This is Isaac and Vera from that one comic idea that I refer to as Empire State. Definitely recommend full view! first one I did today and is of Moore. She’s been really cranky with me and won’t let me figure her out, but luckily she’s been getting better about all that lately. She has a lot of anger, and even more superstition and tradition. She dislikes Franz. A lot.

Some speed sketches i did. No erasing allowed! made it v hard. i like some of them, dislike others. i should probably do more of these in the future. no refs for these, but i’m gonna have to use refs if i do this again.

HERE IS A FRIENDSHIP PICTURE I STARTED TO DO. Initially, Fallon was going to spend a LOT more time hanging out in the regular world, but due to the fact that the comic is so slow paced as it is, I decided to cut that part out. Maybe she’ll get to visit Earth some other time. Franz would show her sailor moon, which she would be obsessed with. We’ve already covered what would happen with wikipedia.

Even though that picture is cute, I really like the initial sketch the most, which I’ve included in this post. The lines are just missing a lot of that…. fear

‘nother speed paint, for after work. ~45min

This is a kind of a speed paint thingy! Abeo is a character that shows up in the second wave of characters in The Defector (which also includes other fan faves like Asma). Abeo is… pretty important! Imagine her as sort of the counterpart to Fallon, and you get the idea. She’s undergone a number of transformations and I expect she may continue to do so.

I’m planning on doing a mini comic with her in it, which will be super spoilerific, but I will provide a version without text for those of you who won’t want that much spoilers.

speed paint o’ my pal franz

a bit of a speed paint before i go take care of lame life stuff! a character named fabel. I’ve drawn her before! her character is starting to solidify in my head, which is good. i love her big pouty lips and brown puppy dog eyes. those will never be taken away from her.

She grew up on the same island as Fallon, but ended up on an opposing side of the conflict. fabel remains the only member of the rebels to be slightly sympathetic to the ruling dynasty, but mostly just to fallon, with whom she identifies a great deal. the rest can go suck a thousand balls, she thinks.

this is of Abeo, that character that isn’t going to show up for years and goes through a ton of design alterations but still i always like to draw her.

It’s Moore, from The Defector! She used to look pretty anime central, but when I gave her a redesign I was older and wiser and capable of drawing atypical face shapes.

The braids are made by twisting the hair, and have a significance in the plains community she came from. She’s a part of a rebel group fighting for the dethronement of the current king dude and justice and stuff. She doesn’t like to be a leader, though, so even though she’s been offered higher status within the group, she usually prefers to let someone else make decisions and have titles, and tends to look up to them, too, like ronan. which proved to be a bad idea
