I like this version better. Isaac (and Vera), from Empire State, one of my numerous side projects that is somewhat directionless and obtuse.

Vera, as seen in Isaac’s dreams.
He is seized with this belief that she is a sort of holy person, performing miracles (saving him from certain death by tuberculosis in his youth, as one example), carrying out God’s will, or something like it. He will likely follow her to his death.
She is… definitely not any of that, however.

PART 2/2 part one: here
The pencil stuff with Ronan and the Harpy is older.. everything else on this page is from the first half of September. Some experimenting with Empire State ideas… I actually did a lot of Empire State doodles when I picked up the no-pencil rule (for everything that wasn’t going to be ultra special finished work) and I thought a lot of them were super great but turns out they weren’t!!! or maybe i’m just jaded by time or something to that effect. But, one of the thumbnails from the top actually made it into being an almost finished piece…. I just gotta give it some inkwash this weekend or something.
Vera was also the worst maid on planet earth. She was never allowed to interact with customers
i’ll scan the current sketchbook tomorrow

got inspired to do some empire state work in the future, so you can look out for that. I couldn’t hold it in for another day though so i made some doodles. My favorite Vera is borderline evil Vera
spoilers: It’s Isaac’s favorite Vera too
I think I’ll redo that four page comic I did almost two years ago, about their orphanage days. yeah, I think that would be awesome
